or:
How I Quit Trying
& Starting Living Easy.
Do you remember Douglas Adam’s wonderful creation ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’? There was more than a little truth in that absurd tale…
Like the invention called the Bambleweeny I.I.G. – a device that needed a really strong cup of tea before it could start randomly generating alternate versions of reality (hmm… I often feel that way myself).
Here’s an alternate version I tried
with some interesting results:
Play with me a moment. Let’s take a little journey to your own inner galaxy.
Take a deep breath all the way down to your cute little toes and go deep deep within…like following the white rabbit down a long long tunnel. And as you breathe out, sense the space between the molecules of which you are made.
It’s sooo relaxing to be space, instead of heavy, dense, mass.
You are the space between the molecules. And as you breathe in and relax, see that at the very centre of your being, there is a funny kind of machine. It’s whirring away, rather like the steam pipe-organ in the centre of an old merry-go-round.
Instead of cranking out quaint old tunes and whirling the painted ponies around, it’s creating infinite possibilities for your life – with joyous abandon.
Riotous fun, travel, shopping expeditions, sleeping in….all shooting like fireworks out the top of the pipes.
However, if you’re in the habit of creating lack, drama or so-so, it does that abundantly, too!
You actually have endless creativity at the very centre of your being! Endless possibilities of how your life could be.
Hmmm…. but what to choose?
You can come back to reality with a bump now.
Is it time to whip out your scissors and paste some glossy mags images onto a new vision board? Stick up some affirmations on the fridge and get cracking with your goals and intentions? Think positive?
Been there, done that?
Got the old law of attraction in full flight? Yeah, me too. For about the last 25 years….
There is an easier way.
It doesn’t limit what’s possible.
It isn’t based on what you can imagine.
It doesn’t involve giving up anything.
The key is using possibility.
It is NOT making judgements and decisions about what is best (and applying them to those tedious vision boards).
In other words, you ask questions, like:
“What would be fun for me?”
“What choices do I have here?”
“What would I like?”
“What else is possible?’”
Questions open up the energy of the Universe. Questions invite change and possibility into your world. Seems simple? It is.
I urge you to try it – but don’t ask if you don’t want any change!
